KEEPING PIPES CLEAN & HYGIENIC

High standards of pipeline hygiene and cleanliness is crucial for companies that manufacture food or beverages intended for human consumption.

In food and beverage processing, this can be the raw ingredients through to the finished products, for example soups and sauces. To obtain clean conditions between food or beverage variations (i.e. batch runs), the pipelines need to be flushed out, disinfected and/or sterilised before use, this avoids cross contamination.

For example, in a fruit juice line that may run for a 1000m, then product removal can be costly, use a lot of water and also require a level of product re-processing.

Product Removal

Use a gel pig and/or viscous gel as it removes residual product in the pipe. The process itself is extremely quick, efficient and allows for the product to be returned to its original source or reduces any contamination or dilution after water flushing.

Benefit: a viscous gel will always be 'full bore' as it adapts to any diameter changes within the pipeline system.

Product Separation

Use in batching processes to reduce and/or eliminate product contamination within pipeline systems.

Use a gel to separate the products, during transit across the process plant. With the use of an online instrument the gel is then automatically diverted to a 'waste tank' for disposal, saving time and money reprocessing contaminated product.

A small gel manufacturing kit can be added to any processing plant, allowing for continual cleaning regimes.
